Have You Heard of Healthy Smiles Ontario?
Did you know free dental care is available for children 0-17 years of age?
Healthy Smiles Ontario is a government-funded dental program that provides free preventive, routine, and emergency dental services for children and youth 17 years old and under.
Healthy Smiles Ontario provides services to those who have financial challenges covering dental care.
The program includes regular visits to a licensed dental provider and covers the costs of treatment including:
• fillings (for a cavity)
• tooth extraction
• urgent or emergency dental care (including treatment of a child’s toothache or tooth pain)
(Cosmetic dentistry, including teeth whitening and braces, is not covered by the program.)
“Our Healthy Smiles program is a supportive option for families in our local community who normally would not be able to access dental services. We offer services within our building, in the local schools, and in surrounding communities. We provide access to treatment via Health Smiles Ontario to families needing to access a Dentist or Dental Specialist where there are financial barriers. We welcome all individuals who need financial assistance, and enjoy our work while servicing individuals in our community.”
